Privacy

Last updated: October 2026

The Fogbottom website has no user accounts and does not ask for your name or email address.

It uses Google Analytics to count visits and software downloads, as described under Analytics. You can accept or decline analytics cookies at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

Server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when a page or file is requested: the IP address, date and time, the page or file requested, the browser's user-agent string and the referring page. These logs are kept by the host for security and to produce overall traffic statistics, such as the number of downloads per month. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors or share them with anyone.

Downloads

Software downloads are ordinary file downloads. No registration or email address is needed, and nothing is added to the files.

Fogbottom software

Visual Image Sequencer, Scene Builder and FogFrames run on your own computer and work offline. They do not need an account and do not send your files or information anywhere.

Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a service of Google, to understand how many people visit, which pages they read and which applications they download. When analytics cookies are allowed, Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) that let it recognise a returning browser for up to two years. It records pages viewed, clicks on the download buttons, the referring site, approximate location (country and city, derived from the IP address, which Google Analytics does not store) and general device information such as browser and screen size. We do not send Google your name, email address or any other personal details. Advertising storage is never enabled on this website, so this information is not used for personalised advertising.

Your choice. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked first, and no analytics cookies are set unless they accept. Elsewhere, analytics is on unless you decline. Either way, the notice at the bottom of the page and Cookie settings in the footer let you accept or decline at any time; your choice is remembered in your browser. When analytics cookies are declined, Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals that a page was viewed, without identifiers that recognise you across visits.

More information: how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can also block Google Analytics in all websites with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
